Electroencephalography (EEG)

This non-invasive procedure used to diagnose seizures is offered in the office.

Before the EEG is started, small metal discs, called electrodes, are applied to the scalp by a trained technologist.  The application of the electrodes do not hurt and a parent is encouraged to stay with the child to ensure a comfortable environment.

During testing the child lies on a bed and is encouraged to sleep so we recommend arriving to the EEG test after being sleep deprived the night before.

Once the test is completed the family will go home and Dr. Quraishi will later follow up with the  results and further recommendations.

We also offer longer ambulatory monitoring if needed.
